Here at NICA we are all about elevating rural communities throughout Nicaragua. We believe that community development is the pathway to improving lives. It’s about creating a strong community and we thought, what better way to make a difference than to connect people around the world all with a simple click of the mouse. So we made a plan. We would create an online space that fosters learning and innovation; a community based on improving the lives of Nicaraguans. And after months of designing, we are pleased to launch this blog.
We hope this blog truly becomes a “meeting place” for friends of NICA and an encouraging environment where they can discuss pressing issues effecting Nicaragua, learn about current projects, and collaborate with people from around the world. Friends can read from staff members creating innovative solutions to current issues, find out the latest impact volunteers are having in the communities NICA serves, and, most importantly, hear from community members who have had their lives transformed thanks to NICA’s community projects.
Now, to move our plan in motion, we need our friends to spread the word. They can write, comment, e-mail, tweet, like, share, and even write us a song, no matter what you do, let everyone know that you are ready – ready to make a difference in Nicaragua.
